October 25, 2016
August 26, 2016—the 2015-2016 graduation ceremony organized for the benefit of students attending Specialized Public Works Institutes, which is placed under the oversight of the Ministry of Equipment, Transportation, and Logistics, was marked by the signing of a framework cooperation agreement in the area of training between this Ministry and the Moroccan Agency for Logistical Development.
The signing of this agreement comes following the creation of a “Transportation and Logistics,” scheme of study at ISTP. Accordingly, the training will be on offer (as of the start of the 2016-2017 school year) at the Oujda-based ISTP as a pilot institute with the prospect of replicating the scheme in other ISTPs based in Fez, Marrakech, and Agadir.
The creation of the “Transportation and Logistics” scheme within ISTP is designed to bolster logistical-training offerings in Morocco, more particularly, the training of specialized technicians. It should be noted that the transportation and logistics sector suffers from a shortage of skilled staff in this area.
Through this agreement, the two signatories commit to pooling their efforts and actions to ensure the development of this scheme, notably in what concerns the quality of training.
The ceremony took place in the presence of several officials serving in the Ministry in charge of Equipment, Transportation, and Logistics, as well as several African ambassadors and diplomats accredited in Morocco.
